RARE PUBLICATIONS showing the work of the Arab academic Adil Jabr (1888-1953) in meeting prominent Palestinians in Iraq and with the Jewish Agency, as well as Hayim Kalwariski and Ahron Cohen's visits to Syria and Lebanon in 1942 to meet Arab leaders. The idea of a federation of bi-national states was proposed to both the AAC and UNSCOP (see lot 410), with the latter taking the proposal to the General Assembly in 1947, where it was rejected in favour of full partition, thus paving the way for the declaration of the independent state of Israel and the consequent Arab-Israeli War.
