Most dated from the 1880's, though some are earlier. Covered are usual family matters, plus financial transactions and undertakings, reminiscences, and other affairs, providing previously unknown source material relating to this imporant Oregon pioneer, who first ventured to the Northest in the early 1840's as a lay member of the Spalding-Whitman missionary group.
