Comprising two boxes of black and white prints of news photos, mainly from International News Photo (A Unit of King Features Syndicate, Inc.) and the Associated Press, with captions on slips of paper glued to the photos or printed directly on the photos, mainly depicting the U.S. military during and immediately before World War II. A few relate to Richard E. Byrd's expeditions to Little America in Antarctica, while others show the Hollywood entertainment world or general domestic American news. Each box measures 13 x 12 1/2 x 2 1/4 in.
The photos were in the files of the Ohio State Journal, which ceased publication in 1959.
