Pierre Alechinsky (b. 1927) is a Belgian artist who has worked in a wide range of media, from painting and prints to poetry and film. A member of the CoBrA art group, formed in 1949, with a number of fellow Belgian and Dutch artists, Alechinsky eventually went to Paris to study engraving under Stanley William Hayter
