One of 375 sets printed on John Dickinson & Co. handmade paper (not numbered). Jane Austen's great-nephew Cholmeley Austen-Leigh, son of the writer of the Memoir, was at that time a partner in the firm Spottiswoode & Co. who printed this set for Bentley. The Steventon Edition was the last complete edition of Jane Austen's works to be published by Bentley, it was however the first set issued by that firm in which the novels appear in the order of first publication.
