Mowll, including: Queen VICTORIA (9 letters, notes, memoranda or documents signed, and one as Princess, including autograph letter signed to Lady Lansdowne, Kensington Palace, 6 July 1837, and to George, [Duke of Cambridge], Windsor Castle, 16 May 1895); Victoria, Duchess of KENT (autograph letter signed, to Lady de la Warr, Malvern, 8 September 1830), Prince ALBERT (autograph letter signed, to the Duchess [of Sutherland], Windsor Castle, 23 December 1859); and statesmen, including PALMERSTON, PEEL, MELBOURNE, WELLINGTON (letter to Earl Howe, in a secretarial hand), John BRIGHT, Joseph HUME; and literary figures, including John RUSKIN (autograph letter signed, to Miss Bell, [n.d.]), Victor HUGO (autograph letter signed, 9 March [n.y.], to 'mon cher Armand'), Henry IRVING (autograph quotation signed), Christina G. ROSSETTI (autograph letter signed, concerning rent); and actors, including John Philip KEMBLE (autograph letter signed, accepting an invitation); the album also includes an autograph letter signed by Sir Walter SCOTT probably a forgery by 'Antique Smith'.
