Outer frame of silver gilt surrounding an elaborate enamel panel on a black velvet background, each side with a central oval enamelled scene from the New Testament, the spine with similar enamel ornamentation, old vellum leaves from an antiphonal as pastedowns. Provenance : purchased from Emil Offenbacher, 1953.
