Correct for its serial range, the item lacks frame patent date marks but shows Smith & Wesson trademark to right frame, ".44 S. & W. CTG" on right barrel, and address "SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD MASS. U.S.A.". Proof marks include "{Crown}/R" rifled proof and "{Star}/combined TA" mark to underside of cylinder pin housing.
