BENTIVOGLIO, Antonio Galeazzo. Oratio ad Alexandrum VI nomine Bononiensium habita, edited by Ferdinandus de Salazar. [Rome: Stephan Plannck, not before September 1492]. 4° (197 x 138mm.). 2 leaves, 27 lines, roman letter. 20th-century half roan. One of three editions, two by Plannck and the other by Silber, printed within a few days of each other, of this oration by the apostolic protonotary and member of the ruling house of Bologna, congratulating Alexander on his accession (August 1492) and, under the guise of offering complete obedience to the Papacy, making a firm stand for Bologna's independence. The city eventually fell to Julius II in 1506. HC 2791; GW 3852; not in BMC; Goff B-330.
