All Berner's Girls were actually boys (Cecil Beaton, Oliver Messel et al ) and it has been suggested that Duff was the mold for Miss MacRogers. Berners was certainly Duff's Sir Purvis Bernard, while the likeness between Millie Roberts and Robert Oddman put it beyond doubt that both were inspired by Robert Heber-Percy.
