FIRST AMERICAN EDITION OF THE DOUAY VERSION OF THE BIBLE, AND THE FIRST QUARTO BIBLE PUBLISHED IN ENGLISH IN THE UNITED STATES. This edition, a substantial quarto, was based on Challoner's second edition of 1763-4. This copy bears a fine provenance: Henry Lambaert was the son-in-law of Henry Wynkoop (1737-1816), Delegate and representative from Pennsylvania. He was a delegate to the provincial conferences of 18 July 1774 and 18 June 1775 and a member of the Continental Congress from 1779-82. He later was a judge in Bucks County and was elected to the First Congress, 4 March 1789-3 March 1791.
