Collation [1 12 2-22 10 23-24 6 (1/1r blank, 1/1v table, 1/2r prologues to Genesis, 1/5r Genesis); 25-36 10 37-38 6 (25/1r Proverbs); 39-41 10 42-43 8 44-48 10 (39/1r prologue to the Gospels, 39/1v Matthew, 48/10v colophon); 49 6 (Menardus)]. 468 leaves. 49-53 lines and headline, double column, printed marginalia in Gospels (39/2v-43/8v). Types: 4:160G (headlines and headings), 3:110 . G (text). Opening 14-line initial illuminated by a contemporary south-German artist in blue with white and mauve modelling on a burnished gold ground with punch-dotted decoration, within fictive frame alternating green, red and mauve, central gold baguette with trefoil terminal above and spiky acanthus extensions below, most 5-line initials in parti-coloured red and blue with green and mauve penwork infill and flourishes, 3-line initials alternately blue and red, red capital strokes. (First leaf laid down on the recto side, upper half of fol. 14/7 supplied from another copy, its carefully attached lower half supplied from a copy of another Koberger edition, occasional worming, mostly marginal, neat marginal tears in 4 lvs., a few small stains.) 19th-century light brown-stained pigskin, sides tooled in blind with a dentelle border, two brass fore-edge clasps, marbled edges (rebacked, preserving original backstrip, some wear at corner). Provenance : Glogau, Silesia [now Glogów Malopolski], cathedral chapter library (1679 inscription on first text-page, Ecclesiae Collegiatae Glogoviae maioris, Catalogo inscriptus Anno 1679 ) -- J.
