Provenance : Estelle Doheny (morocco bookplate) -- donated to SMS 12 December 1946. Apparently the earliest Arabo-Turkish edition, first issue without the cancellation of leaves. Publication of the work was undertaken by Jean Daniel Kieffer (1767-1832) and an edition of 5,000 copies was completed under his direction in early 1819. A number of innacuracies were discovered shortly after publication, and as far as possible these were removed by the insertion of cancelled leaves and a list of errata in each obtainable copy. This copy preserves the original uncancelled leaves. Darlow & Moule 9453.
