Laeiresse, engraved arms of Emanuel II, 2 engraved portraits of Emanuel II and the Duchess of Savoy, double-page genealogical table and 65 plates, including 61 double-page or folding maps, plans and views. (The first plate with small rust spot, occasional slight browning of plates, text generally rather browned.) Contemporary speckled calf, spine gilt (bowed, upper joints splitting). The first volume of a 2-volume townbook published by the heirs of Joan Blaeu A Dutch edition followed in 1693, and an edition with French text in 1700. During his lifetime, Blaeu himself had published three volumes of Italian town books on the Vatican, Rome, Naples and Sicily, complimented in 1682 by this magnificent volume on Piedmont and another on Savoy.
