With engraved title, 148 (of 159) engr. maps, plans and bird's eye views of the towns of the Republic on 123 (of 128; 111 double-page) plates, all in bright old colouring, which has been refreshed or supplemented in places; mostly with letterpress text on verso; and with 2 text engr. and 2 woodcuts (1 col. each). In addition, the view of Wachtendonk replaced from vol. 1 to 2 from the 2nd Latin edition onwards and 1 text leaf from vol. 2 are bound in (not counted above). The views of Doesburg (10A) and Monnickendam (32A) listed by Koeman only for the copy in Delft are not present. - Somewhat stained, dampstaining and mildew spotting at top (also affecting image) throughout, from about the middle of the volume also some waterstaining at bottom. Some small wormholes to lower margin, here and there mostly smaller tears to centerfolds and margins (partly repaired), Staveren with small corner tear and Dokkum with small corner tear-off (both without loss of image), creasefolds to a few plates. Colours bleeding through to verso, also occasional colour offsetting, opaque white somewhat oxydised. Engr. title trimmed and laid down, repaires to top of first leaves due to dampstaining, index leaf loose. Name stamp to 1st dedication leaf. Bound in contemporary calf richly gilt, edges gilt; rubbed and worn, a few tiny wormholes, tear to upper joint at top, repairs to head and tail of spine, endpapers renewed. Lacking 11 engravings (33 c-d, 37 c-d, 39 c-d, 43, 44, 110, 114 a. 126).
