An illustration of the Tisza-Eszlar synagogue appears on the first page. In April 1882, Esther Solymosi, a Christian peasant girl, servant in the home of a Jewish family in Tisza-Eszlar, was sent on an errand from which she did not return. The search for her being fruitless, a rumor was circulated that the girl had become a victim of ritual murder and her blood used for baking Matzot for Passover. Many Jews were arrested, false evidences were obtained and a long legal procedure full of incitement started destined to prove the Jews' guilt.
