A most excellent Hystorie, Of the Institution and firste beginning of Christian Princes, and the Originall of Kingdomes: Whereunto is annexed a treatise of Peace and Warre, and another of the dignitie of Mariage, first edition, black letter, title within elaborate typographical woodcut border with coat of arms of Elizabeth I to verso, woodcut historiated initials, head- and tail-pieces, occasional damp-staining, 2D1 to end (4ff.) with minor worming to text with loss to a few letters, occasional marginal staining or soiling, early ink inscriptions to title and elsewhere, disbound, loose in contemporary limp vellum (lower cover with much torn away), preserved in morocco-backed drop-back box, [STC 5113], small 4to, by H. Bynneman dvvelling in Knightrider streat, at the signe of the Marmayd, 1571. ⁂ A rare work by Boaistuau, we can trace only 2 copies at auction, including this one.
