Body Snatchers – John Bishop and Thomas Williams run of seven editions of the Spectator newspaper from November 12th through to December 31st 1831 covering the whole court case of the notorious body snatchers Bishop and Williams who murdered various people in London and then sold the bodies for medical research. They were finally apprehended after they murdered a 14 year old Italian boy and offered his body for 9 gns, and eventually executed at Newgate on December 5th 1831. Together with an edition of The Entertaining Press for November 30th 1831containing reports on the case as well as wood cut engraved illustrations of the defendants. Condition generally good, some browning to the Entertaining Press, a page missing from one of the Spectator editions, not containing any text on the case.
