The additional plates include various portraits of Boileau (around 20 at the start of volume 1, and around 16 in volume 2), two facsimiles of letters at the start of volume 2, over 80 plates for "Le Lutrin" (some in two states, or proof states), cuttings from a seventeenth-century edition of his works inserted at relevant points in the volumes, a series of engraved friezes from Cahier d’arabesques composes par C. L. Desrais en 1789 and Stefano della Bella Ornament[i] di fregi et fogliami (Paris: N. Langlois) at the end of volume 1, and 26 plates from Quellinus, Aerdighe Festonnen at the end of volume 2.
