Shipton et al, 1756) 1st edition, engraved vignette title, engraved allegorical frontispiece, and with 74 (?) engraved plates to the back, folio size (42.5 x 28cm), full calf gilt with oxblood morocco gilt title band to spine, together with VARIOUS BOOKS including 'Gynaecology' by Eden and Lockyer (2nd edition), 'Ecclesiastical Curiosities' (8 x volumes total, titles of each on request, or see images) Provenance: deceased estate Carmarthenshire Auctioneer's Note: an important work by the botanist and polymath Sir John Hill being one of the first publications to appear after Carl Linnaeus' 'Species Plantarum' of 1753 which was the year internationally accepted as the beginning of modern botanical nomenclature. Condition Report: No plates are colour. There is some damage to the spine. All pages look attached Most pages have foxing
