These papers arose from Born's investigations of the chemical consequences of his and Landé's theory of ionic crystals: the first paper, "Das Atom," gives a general overview of current atomic theory and the remaining papers, "Vom mechanischen Aether zur elektrischen Materie" and "Die Brücke zwischen Chemie und Physik," deal with specific questions.
