Very rare first illustrated edition. In this richly illustrated Bosse’s gnomonics work, he explains the procedure to build sundials of his master Girard Desargues The plates out text are numbered from 1 to 28: some are also repeated several times and are engraved on the recto and on the back of 34 leafs. The complexity of the numeration produced often errors in the binding: are thus not complete specimens, as the two of the Bibliotheque Nationale. This specimen, instead, also contains the engraved plate with a dedication to Monseigneur de Noyers, almost always missing. Le Blanc, I, p. 270; Bibliothèque Nationale, T. XVI, col. 695-96, cotes V. 2224 et 2226. The lot is offered with a valid export license.
