Henry Wise (1806-1876) served as governor of Virginia (1856-1860) and then as a brigadier general in the Confederate Army, commanding troops at the Battle of Roanoke Island, the First and Second Battles of Petersburg, and the Battle of Sayler's Creek, and fought and surrendered with Gen. Lee at Appomattox Court House. Condition: Print is VG+; mount is worn at edge and corners, including 6" crease at l.r.
