(Title soiled and repaired at margins, following leaf with marginal repairs, Cc3 and Ee3 with smaller paper repairs, Rr6 with laminated repair, F5v-6r of "The Mirrour of good Maners" with small ink stain touching on text, occasional browning.) All but one of the woodblocks were first used in Richard Pynson's first edition of 1509. The illustrations by Pynson's artist were not copied from the Basel cuts by Dürer and others, but from the 1497 Paris edition [GW 5058]. If the Pynson edition is a notorious rarity, copies of Cawood's edition now also rarely appear on the market, especially in early bindings.
