[Bruges imprint - Diocese of Bruges] Nova disctinctio decanum diocesis Brugensis [...], facta anno mense augusto, cum assignatione dierum occurentium quibus singulae ecclesiae ad preces supradictas tenentur [...]. Bruges, P. de Clerck, Broadsheet (upper edge trimmed presumably with loss of text, 3 edges reinforced at verso, ms. annot.). Unrecorded imprint concerning the erection of new deaneries in the diocese of Bruges and published at the request of Bishop Remigius Driutius (1519-1594). The diocese of Bruges was established on May and Driutius added three new deaneries on Augustus Sluis, Torhout and Gistel. This document gives the list and the name of all the 8 deaneries with their parishes. With an early appearance of Robert Granjon’s twelve-piece combinable on great primer in the typographical border. This new appearance puts Bruges in fourth place next to Venice, shortly after Antwerp (1567), Lyon (1572), and Paris (1573). Ref. Vervliet FLC - Not in BT, STCV, Opac KBR, USTC, etc. - With the help of Kr. Selleslacht (MPM - Antwerp). Joined: "Divisio decanatum per R[everend]um Driutium a°. mense Augusto". 17th c. 4to: 1 folded f., on paper, in a cursive Latin hand (3 edges reinforced). Manuscript transcription of the same list with some annotations relating to the appointment of some pastors to their parish. (2 pcs)
