BURLINGTON FINE ARTS CLUB -- COCKERELL, Sydney C., compiler. Exhibition of Illuminated Manuscripts . London, 1908. 3 volumes, 2 o (400 x 305 mm). 162 black-and-white photographic plates. Contemporary red half morocco, gilt-lettered on spine, top edges gilt (some minor rubbing). FIRST EDITION, folio issue (it was also issued in quarto format). Among the contributers to the exhibition were Lord Aldenham, Cambridge Colleges, Sydney C. Cockerell, Major G.L. Holford, Alfred H. Huth, J. Pierpont Morgan, Oxford Colleges, C.W. Dyson Perrins, George Salting, H. Yates Thompson and the Victoria and Albert Museum. The exhibition was strongest in English, Flemish, French and Italian manuscripts, but also included Bohemian (1), German (4), Irish (1), Lombardic (1), Netherlandish (8), Spanish (8) and Swiss (1) examples.
