Beschreibung:

BMW’s first new post-war model, the 250cc R24, arrived in 1948 looking pretty much like the pre-war R23 but producing an additional 2bhp. In mid-1950 the R24 was superseded by the R25, which featured plunger rear suspension but was otherwise very similar. An improved R25/2 version was introduced during 1951 incorporating a stronger crankshaft and minor revisions to the front mudguard stays and seat springing. This R25/2’s registration mark ‘306 GPU’ is one of a series first issued in 1956, by which time the re-styled R25/3 had been in production for more than two years, possibly indicating that its high price had kept the machine in a dealer’s showroom all that time. The machine was acquired by Eric Houseley around 25 years ago and restored by him, being ridden on private land only post completion. Presented in apparently good original condition, it is offered without documents.
