Aldo Guazzoni formed his own company in Milan after leaving Moto Morini. There, between 1949 and 1977, he built an eclectic range, from racing machines to three-wheel trucks. His 50cc racers remain the company’s most renowned products, their engines also being used to power record-breakers. This Guazzoni is clearly set up as a racing machine as witness the quality of the components. Sadly, the owner never completed the rebuild and many parts were lost before its acquisition by the Ehn museum. Nevertheless, the so obviously worthwhile project, offering the opportunity of restoring one of the 100kph Guazzonis will surely appeal to a ‘50’ connoisseur, and so is offered here.
