The frame of this Triumph-engined supercharged sprint/drag bike was constructed for its first owner, Brian Millin, by well-known straight-line competitor/constructor, John Clift. Best known for his successful series of Triumph-powered ‘Co-Respondent’ drag bikes of the 1970s, Clift - one of the sport’s biggest names - is still in demand as a frame maker today. The all-alloy, Tiger 100-type, Triumph engine is aspirated by a Shorrock supercharger, and was rebuilt for Brian Millin in 1986 by well known specialist, Fred Cooper (invoice available). Purchased from Brian Millin in 1991 by the current owner, the machine comes with the relevant bill of sale and has been kept dry stored as part of a private collection since acquisition. Also included with it is Clift’s original hand-written invoice listing parts and labour costs; details of engine specifications and settings; starting, operating and maintenance instructions; Mistral ignition technical drawings and instructions; wheelie bars; and a set of starting rollers.
