1917 vintage Colt Frontier Six Shooter single action revolver, serial number 336648.7 - 1/2" round barrel chambered in .44-40 Winchester Center Fire with standard SAA front sight and notched rear. Single line Colt Hartford, CT barrel address with "COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER .44-40" marking on left of barrel. Matching serial numbers at backstrap, trigger guard, and frame. "R.F. ENEWOLD" / "OMAHA, NEB." / "4"/"30"/"44." marking at trigger guard underneath grips on left side. 2 piece checkered gutta percha grips with Rampant Colt on either side. CONDITION: Very good, with barrel retaining most of its original bluing with the balance turning to a gray-brown patina with light pitting and handling marks. Frame retains brilliant case colors in protected areas with modest wear throughout and scattered heavy pitting on loading gate. 2 piece gutta percha grips are very good with checkering slightly worn but Rampant Colt still easily visible and no sign of cracks or repairs. Action works correctly and locks tightly.
