Circa 1922. A vintage and handsome 12 gauge game gun with 26" blued steel barrels. Barrels are fit with 2 - 1/2" chambers and ejectors, machine concave wide rib with extension and steel round front bead sight. Rib reads "PARKER BROS. MAKERS.MERIDEN.CT.U.S.A. ACME STEEL." Barrel flats read "J.G.(in oval)", "19","A", "HT 9 / A","3 / 3". Forward lump stamped "12", "1". Rear lump with "x". Chokes are Full and Full. The muted case color hardened boxlock action has been built with a third fastener, double triggers, engraved and checkered top lever, checkered slide safe and is non-auto safe. "SAFE" is engraved just ahead of the slide. Action is engraved with scrolls and game scenes of pointing dogs in fields on both left and right sides of action. Bottom action is also engraved with scrolls and a game scene of 2 ducks standing at the edge of a pond with mountains in background. Triggers are protected by a scroll engraved trigger guard that extends itself to the gun's bottom strap which is engraved with scrolls and the gun's serial number "197381". Left and right side of actions also engraved with "PARKER BROS." at rear of boxlock action. Water table reads "PARKER BROS. REG.U.S.PAT.OFF.PAT'D.JAN.18.AUG,16.1887PAT'D.OCT.25,1910.PAT'D.AUG.15.1905" and "BH",197381","5". The gun's stock is made from imported European walnut with nice straight grain, checkered panels, Fleur-de-Lis drop points, wrap-around point checkering with Fleur-de-Lis pattern border on pistol grip. Pistol grip with gold border engraved grip cap. Checkered butt of stock is nicely appointed with skeletonized border engraved steel plate with remnants of color. Splinter forend with matched checkering is built with Deeley styled release is engraved and interior iron metal is case colored and with serial number. Gun is cased in an older aftermarket hard case. CONDITION: Very good. Barrels retain 85% blue with a bit of silvering at muzzles and some rub marks from forend. Action is mechanically sound, triggers and ejectors operate well. Action and other metal parts with loss of case coloring. Stock with handling marks from use and flacking on finish. Pistol grip and Forend with a small amount of bruising to checkering. Forend is good. Case is good.
