Circa 1956. A .458 Winchester Magnum Big Game Rifle with 25" blacked steel barrel. Barrel with rear island sight, sight with adjustable leaf. Front blade sight is ramped, serrated and with hood. Barrel reads "MADE IN USA", WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL", "WINCHESTER TRADE MARK", "MODEL -70-458 WIN. MAGNUM". Barrel with sweated on sling loop. Action with serial number "365667" on right. Action reads with logo "WINCHESTER" over "TRADE MARK" on left. Action is taped for scope mounts. Rifle is built with 3-position wings safe. Slide and extractor are jeweled. Black serrated trigger is protected by a black trigger guard. Floor plate reads "SUPER GRADE". Straight grain stock with fine checkered pistol grip, Monte Carlo combed cheekpiece, loop for sling and finished orange "WINCHESTER" recoil pad. Forend with matched checkering and ebony forend tip. Pistol grip with blacked steel grip cap. CONDITION: Very good. Barrel retains 90% of its original black. Action is smooth and sound. Stock and forend with light handling marks. Great early big bore rifle.
