Fine condition. An excellent soft-focus black and white photograph of Casals, the Spanish-born virtuoso cellist and conductor, gazing directly at the camera with an intense expression, wearing elegant turn-of-the-century attire. Considered one of the greatest 20th-century cellists and a distinguished conductor and composer, Casals gained an international reputation for expressive brilliance, exemplified in chamber trios performed with Jacques Thibaud and Alfred Cortot. -- CORTOT, Alfred (1877-1962).
