A reprint of the first edition of 1528, also in folio format; the other Aldine (and non-Aldine) editions were in smaller formats. The first edition was printed under the direction of Gian Francesco Torresano, this second folio edition by Paolo Manuzio.
Folio (285 x 196 mm). Roman type, 40 lines plus headline. collation: *4 a-o8 p6: 122 leaves. Woodcut Aldine device on title- page and final verso (otherwise blank). (D3 and final leaf with light staining.)
binding: Seventeenth-century green velvet binding (291 x 204 mm), paper label on spine with manuscript lettering, holes from two pairs of ties. (Spine and extremities rubbed with loss of velvet, upper joint cracked.)
