Cartes credited to various studios across the United States, plus one from Nova Scotia, one from London, and one from Edinburgh. Three by Southern U.S. photographers: J.F. Mangold of Eufaula, Alabama; Sandifer of Somerset, Kentucky; and Bushnell of Jefferson City, Missouri (the last appearing to be a Hispanic or mixed race man). Also one by traveling artist Andrew L. Dahl and one by A.L. Pellegrin & Co. of San Bernadino, California. Provenance: Dr. John W. Ravage Collection of African American Photography Condition: Most with light-to-moderate toning, soiling, and edge wear.
