Beschreibung:

12 bore. 28" barrel lengths. SN: 4030. Break action underlever shotgun with a flat rib and silver bead front sight. Blued metal finish with bare case hardened finish to sidelocks and frame. Fine English Walnut stock has checkering to straight grip, wood buttplate, and overall to splinter forearm. Forearm also appears to have an ebony forend insert. Engravings include bank note scroll surrounding a 3-tiered banner and rosettes to lock screws on both sides of frame. Hammers, fences, triggerguard, and upper tang have bank note scroll engravings. Lower tang features a vignette engraving of two pheasants. Markings include "CHARLES LANCASTER PATENT" to both sides of frame, and "LANCASTER/LONDON/PATENT" in 3-tiered banner to both sidelocks. Flat of barrel rib is marked with manufacturer address and patent marks. Item features double triggers, double high spur hammers, auto extractors, and a sling swivel to bottom of mid-barrel area. 13.75" length of pull, 1.5" drop to comb, 2.25" drop to heel. Full choke bores with 2.75" chamber lengths. Charles Lancaster was an English gunmaker known for his many patents and innovations related to rifled cannons and oval bore designs in the mid-19th century. Condition: Very good. Bores are both bright but have heavy surface oxidation to muzzles. Finish on barrel shows some small losses and light scratching, with surface oxidation to area around muzzles and front sight. Wood stock has scratching and mars scattered overall. Sling swivel appears to be missing from bottom edge of stock. Wood to metal fit on left sidelock is not good. Stock has some small bites and losses around tails of sidelocks. Action is functional.
