Chateau La Tour Haut-Brion 1998 Chateau La Tour Haut-Brion 1998 Graves A real spice box nose, of course much more developed at this stage than La Mission. Fine-textured. Oozes spices, ripe fruit and an alluring freshness at the end. Another bottle had the most Havana nose of all the line-up of Graves Crus Classes in this vintage. So luscious, complex and sweet. I always adored its earthy, peaty flavours, with excellent body and structure to match the very fine fruit of its site. It matured more quickly than La Mission which suits those of us with little patience! This is really rewarding wine, with marvellous appellation character and expression. Serena Sutcliffe, MW.
