GRAND DUKE NIKOLAI NIKOLAEVICH'S COPY, in the original binding, with three gilt borders hand-coloured in various colours. Chertkov's excavations in 1838 of the burial mounds around Moscow made him the most famous Russian archaeologist of his time.
