Charles Magnus was a New York print publisher, map dealer, bookseller and stationer from 1850 to 1899. He copied much of his work from other printmakers by altering or combining design elements from several sources without crediting the original artists. During the Civil War, he produced approximately 700 patriotic envelopes and over 300 illustrated song sheets that soldiers and civilians collected. Condition: Excellent
