Fiske, 1862. 32mo. With advertisement featuring Map of Boston, 1861 by clothing retailer Macullar, Williams & Parker. Original wrappers (dampstaining). RARE: OCLC locates only 1 copy. -- DERBY, William P. (1839-1901). Bearing Arms in the Twenty-Seventh Massachusetts Regiment of Volunteer Infantry. Boston: Wright & Potter, 1883. Derby was a veteran of the 27th Mass. and a MA Commander of GAR Post #16 (E.K. Wilcox) in Springfield, MA. -- BRUCE, George A. The Twentieth Regiment of Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry 1861-1865. Boston and New York: Houghton, Mifflin and Company, 1906. The author appears to be George Anson Bruce of the 13th New Hampshire Infantry, commissioned as a 1st lieutenant, seeing promotions to captain, major, and lieutenant colonel by brevet on 13 March 1865. Wounded in action at Fort Harrison, VA on 29 September 1864. -- STEVENS, William B. (ca 1843-1931). History of the Fiftieth Regiment of Infantry, Massachusetts Volunteer Militia in the Late War of the Rebellion. Boston: Griffith-Stillings Press, 1907. Stevens was a veteran of the 50th Massachusetts and an active GAR member at Post #75 (J.P. Gould). -- Together, 4 works in 4 volumes, all FIRST EDITION, 8vo except where noted, all in publishers' bindings, condition generally fine. Second edition. -- RIPLEY, William Y.W. (1832-1905). Vermont Riflemen in the War for the Union, 1861 to 1865. A History of Company F, First United States Sharp Shooters. Rutland, VT: Tuttle & Co., 1883. Ripley had enlisted prior to the war as a captain and first served in the 1st Vermont Infantry. On 1 December 1861, he was commissioned as a lieutenant colonel into Field & Staff of the 1st US Volunteer Sharpshooters. Wounded in action on 1 July 1862 at Malvern Hill, VA, he resigned not long after on 6 August 1862, declining a further commission. -- TOBIE, Edward P. History of the First Maine Cavalry, 1861-1865. Boston: Emery & Hughes, 1887. Extra-illustrated, "large edition." -- LITTLE, Henry F.W. (1842-1907). The Seventh Regiment New Hampshire Volunteers in the War of the Rebellion. Concord, NH: Ira C. Evans, 1896. Contemporary cloth. Little served with the 7th New Hampshire as well as the 29th USCT. He was promoted from his enlistment as a corporal to 1st lieutenant (of Co. B, 29th USCT). He earned the Medal of Honor for "extraordinary heroism" and "gallantry on the skirmish line" on 7 October 1864 at James River, VA.
