Clarice Cliff - Fantasque Melon - (1928-1929) - An Art Deco early 20th century circa. 1920's Clarice Cliff tea service / coffee service in the 'Melon' pattern as part of the Bizarre Fantasque series. Each piece being hand painted with an abstracted fruit design. The set comprising of lidded coffee pot, five coffee cups, six saucers, milk jug and sugar bowl. Clarice Cliff Wilkinson Ltd. England and Newport Pottery England. Condition: Chip (7mm length) to one teacup with hairline crack (10mm length). Some chips small chips to paintwork inc chip to paintwork along a teacup rim (2mm length). Some staining from use to interiors. Overwise manufacture imperfections commensurate with Clarice Cliff production inc pinholing & paint drips. Overall good condition.
