Among other subjects, Shnuer writes about his literary work and about his journalistic work; about a trip of ten weeks in America during which he delivered speeches in 40 different cities; complaints about Davar Newspaper and its editor Berl Katzenelson; about Hebrew and Yiddish newspapers, about his family's health (mainly about his wife's medical condition), about purchase of medications and a constant delivery of Insulin and lottery cards, and more. In a number of letters from 1938 Shneur refers to the political atmosphere in Germany at the time and the attitude towards Jews; in a letter dated November 11 he refers to Kristallnacht: "…I find no rest and no peace. … the mediaeval persecutions in Ashkenaz shook me terribly. I am sick. Sick in body and soul. There is no hope". Some of the letters consist of several pages. Enclosed: * Calling card of Joseph Walden with a short letter from him. * Nine of the original envelopes in which the letters were sent. Size and condition vary. Good overall condition.
