Lot of 15 CDVs, almost all credited to J.A. Williams, Newport, RI, with 9 including backmark, "From Lobell General Hospital." The collection features the following subjects (photographer noted for CDVs not credited to J.A. He served under government contract as an acting assistant surgeon from September 12, 1862, until August 17, 1865, being paid the tidy sum of $100 a month for his services. Born in Germany and schooled at a prestigious university in Vienna, Dr. Seyffarth spent four years learning his profession there.
