Collection of leaves from medieval manuscripts [thirteenth to fifteenth century] Eleven leaves or cuttings (including three bifolia), including: (a) bifolium from a Lectionary, single column, 24 lines in a tall and angular early gothic bookhand, capitals touched in red, rubrics in red, music marked in neumes, single large red initial with baubles mounted in body, one textual omission marked with a cross, northern Germany or Low Countries, late thirteenth century, each leaf 320 by 235 mm.; (b) top half of a leaf from a monumental Lectionary, remains of double column, 14 lines in a notably large angular gothic bookhand, capitals touched in red, one small capital ‘s’ with tail trailing into margin, one large initial ‘I’ in red on reverse with small ball set at head of its heading stroke and three semi-circular bulges in its foot, original foliation “CLIIII” at head, whole cutting 190 by 260 mm.; (c) two leaves from a Lectionary, with single column, 30 lines in a square gothic bookhand, capitals touched in red, red rubrics, eight simple red initials, contemporary folio number “xlvii”, probably France, late fourteenth- or early fifteenth-century, 310 by 220 mm.; plus a bifolium from a thirteenth- or early fourteenth-century legal text, a bifolium from a fifteenth-century Lectionary leaf with red and blue initials, two small cuttings from thirteenth- and fourteenth-century manuscripts (one with a coloured initial); all recovered from bindings and with concomitant damage and paper adhering in places
