Collection of medals awarded to Einar Sigurd Ween, (1880–1967), incl. Norway, Haakon VII, The King's Medal of Merit in gold; Oslo turnforening, 'Gymnastics Association', medal of merit in silver, Sweden, Gustav V, medal struck in memory of the Olympic Games of Stockholm 1912, silver, as well as miniatures. Einar Sigurd Ween (1880–1967). Born in Kristiania (Oslo), After finishing school he began his career as a cartographer like his father (see lots 356, 357). In 1916 he was appointed operations manager of Oslo's public baths, an important position he held until 1946. He was also heavily involved in Oslo's gymnastics association, in which he served as secretary for many years.
