GOOD COLLECTION OF OVER SIXTY AUTOGRAPH LETTERS SIGNED ("ALF[RED]CORTOT") to Gabriel Astruc, Reynaldo Hahn (about Magda Tagliaferro), Paul Boquel (about concerts and programmes, including with Casals and Thibaud), Marc Fischer of Flammarion, and others, including many letters about about Chopin, particularly relating to his own book Aspects de Chopin, including corrections to the various editions, also discussing Clérambault, sonatas by Schubert (in B-flat) and Haydn, the Beethoven's Variations for piano trio Op.121a, commenting on pianos by Pleyel and Bechstein, about a visit to Wagner's house at Meudon, about musical writers, including Robert Bory, an autograph transcript of a poem, mentioning Albi Rosenthal and many others, c.60 items, 4to and 8vo, about half of which (those to Boquel) dating from 1906-1915; Paris, Lausanne, Tokyo, Bournemouth,1905-1959; together with 7 letters about Cortot by the publisher Georges Delaye addressed to Astruc, and a typescript about Beethoven, annotated by Cortot about Beethoven (torn into pieces), many of the letters to Boquel cropped at both side margins
