cover 1608-1797 "A.Q." sheets a remarkable and comprehensive collection comprising forty-two sheets spanning the period of conception to the last year of use; the collection is based on "Tagli Delli Soldi 4 Per Lettera" by Giorgio Dal Gian (a copy of which is included in the lot). Among the notable rarities are 1608 (28 Feb.) sheet (DG 1) possibly the earliest known date, 1609-11 (DG 2) two including a very rare unused example, 1613-16 (DG 6), 1614-17 (DG 7), 1617-19 (DG 9) printed in red, 1629-32 "Piovego" (DG 17o, RR) and a range of later issues terminating with the Napoleonic period.
