cover 1847 (25 Mar.) soldier's letter from Corporal Tully at "Loodianah" to Charlotte Town, Prince Edward Island and countersigned at lower-left, showing red oval-framed "INDIA", black London handstruck "2" and Liverpool transit datestamp on front with manuscript "2½" adjacent, the reverse with Indian despatch marking and good light "PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND" arrival datestamp; some damage strengthened or repaired with paper tape and a little soiled though still attractive. This is the only soldier's letter from India to Prince Edward Island that we have seen and is probably unique in this respect. Photo
