P.O.W. mail, Russian units in France and French in Russia and including 1812 E.L. from Moscow to St. Petersburg written just prior to the French invasion, 1854 XU5 from London to the Crimea bearing 6d. embossed (cut to shape), 1916 XU5 to London from the British Consulate at Kashgar, censored in Tashkent and again at Petrograd, 1916 registered XU5 from Kishinev to U.S.A., much re-directed, eventually returned to Russia and showing c.d.s. of the Petrograd Imperial Mail section, 1918 XU5 from New York bearing the official "RETURN TO SENDER" label, and much else of interest. A fascinating lot. (143)
