Spine stress, two indentations to front cover and many pages caused by an unknown object that was stacked on this mag, crease to bottom right corner of cover and pages, rumpled but intact and attractive, no chips or tears, nice crisp floppiness in the hand. Off-white to cream pages. Cover art: Overstreet says A.C. Hollingworth, but Grand Comics Database says the artist is unknown. Art: Dick Beck?, Leo Morey?, A.C. Hollingsworth?, H.C. Kiefer? Overstreet: "Acid in face cover." GPAnalysis: No reported sales in this grade. A 3.5 sold for $360 in August 2020. An acid-hurling hussy fries a hardboiled yegg's face like an egg on this mag's classic cover. The insides are plenty rough, but there's nothing to rival the cover image, which doesn't correspond to any of the stories. The closest we get to the cover scenario is a fun panel in which a nurse chucks the contents of a bedpan into a crook's kisser. Also, there's fake ghouls who pretend to eat human flesh as part of their crime scheme; an on-the-lam hottie who gets plastic surgery to look like a hag; a beret-wearing artiste whose art is dead people covered in plaster; and an ad for a "farmer's daughter" jokebook full of salacious innuendos about horny traveling salesmen and hot haystack honeys. Missed Opportunities Dept: We doublechecked, and sadly, the nurse doesn't toss a bedpan full of human waste into the crook's face.
